Jurassic World Movie Reviews
Before I get to sink my
claws in what I think is very wrong with this film, I have to say
upfront that it's an hell of a lot better film than "Jurassic Park 3"
just for the glaring fact that "Jurassic Park 3" was that bad of a
movie. So much so that poor Sam Neill can't live it down for the way the
screenwriters ruined his character and the credibility of the series as
a whole.
Now we have part 4, which is called "Jurassic World" and while it's a major league improvement over the dismal "Jurassic Park 3", its still can't live up to the quality of what Spielberg achieved with the work he did with the first two Jurassic Park films ( The original and it's sequel "The Lost World".) This film takes place 22 years after the original and Jurassic World is fully operational but the mystic of dinosaurs has worn off and the resort needs a new attraction to bring in new customers. So they create a new dinosaur called the Indominus Rex, a leaner, meaner animal that is made to bring in and wow the crowds. At this point of the film for me when they introduce this monster, I can hear what Jurassic Park's mainstay Ian Malcolm would have said during this moment and it would not have been kind. If you remember the character of Ian Malcolm (played wonderfully by Jeff Goldblum) he's pretty much the best character in the Jurassic Park films. The reason being is the fact that he not only represented what the audience was thinking during the films ( Well, the first two movies, not the god awful 3rd one) but was the voice of sarcastic reason and reality to John Hammond's flights of fancy. Too bad he's not around in this movie because he would be pretty much putting down almost every character in this film for their ignorance and stupidity, which was the audience's reaction in my theater through out this entire duration of the film.
Chris Pratt plays pretty much the only likable character in the entire film and pretty much the only character with some brains in his head. That's a good thing considering that we would have no one to root for to at least survive the massacre that comes when the Indominus Rex finally and predictably goes on it's killing rampage. Bryce Dallas Howard really does not have much to do other than be surprised by her character's stupidity, which is a shame cause she really is a good actress and Vincent D"Onofrio is given a one note role which is a crime cause he's a damn fine actor. Throw in two of the most annoying kids ever to be stranded on a dinosaur resort ( (Ty Simpkins and Nick Robinson) and you have a cast of characters who almost deserves to be dino chow. Despite the dumb characters and the leaps in logic and common sense, the movie does work as a entertaining time waster. There are some pockets of excitement to be had and the climax really does deliver the goods but this is all this film is about. It's really a monster movie, not a Jurassic Park film and while Chris Pratt gives us the only character in the film to root for, not even he can cover up the film's huge mistakes in story, logic and characterization.
As the character of Ian Malcolm said to John Hammond in "The Lost World".
John Hammond: "Don't worry, I'm not making the same mistakes again." Dr.
Ian Malcolm: "No, you're making all new ones."
This pretty much sums up Jurassic World as a whole.

A Touch of Zen Movie Reviews
I came upon this film
by accident, I looked for it on video, someone offered me a second
generation copy for US$80! No thanks, then by magic it came up on
digital TV in the UK, 3 months after I had started to look for it!
I saw the widescreen/subtitled 177 mins version, although it is 3 hours long it is not boring, it keeps your attention throughout. The fight sequences I did not find particularly thrilling except for the monks (they were exceptional). The film is a little too dark, not enough sunshine. The photography is excellent especially given the film was made in '69. You can see the similarity with the modern day "crouching tiger hidden dragon" Ang Lee has said he was inspired by this film. If you ever get a chance to see this make sure you do.

Before we went to see
this movie we had heard about many good reviews of it. After spending
approximate 100mins in the movie theater we were extremely satisfied and
entertained. This movie is even better than we have expected. There
were full of laughters almost from the beginning to the end in the
theater.
Stephen Chow displays his talent as both a director and an actor. It maintains the previous Chow's style and humor as in other movies, such as "Xi Ju Zhi Wang" and "Xing Yun Yi Tiao Long", while those CGIs were not expected. In Chow's movie, what the Chinese people like is that it says no to super heroes. It just tells the stories of ordinary people, particularly those people leading insignificant and unsuccessful lives.
Several characters in this movie were played by popular Kung-Fu stars, in the 1980's - 1990's in China. Stephen Chow shows respects to them, as the way he respects Bruce Lee.
Above all, Kung-Fu Hustle is a movie with great hilarity, stunning CGI effects, fantastic Kung-Fu, and the lives of ordinary people. I give it 9 out of 10. Highly recommended!
Now this movie is in theaters in Europe and North America. The recent comments have shown a good sign already.Best wishes to Stephen Chow! Hope western people like this movie as well.

The Legend of Drunken Master Movie
A young martial artist is caught between respecting his pacifist father's wishes or stopping a group of disrespectful foreigners from stealing precious artifacts.
Director:Chia-Liang Liu
Writers:Edward Tang (screenplay),
Man-Ming Tong (screenplay)
Stars:Jackie Chan,
Ho-Sung Pak,
Lung Ti
Storyline
Returning home with his father after a shopping expedition, Wong
Fei-Hong is unwittingly caught up in the battle between foreigners who
wish to export ancient Chinese artifacts and loyalists who don't want
the pieces to leave the country. Fei-Hong has learned a style of
fighting called "Drunken Boxing", which makes him a dangerous person to
cross. Unfortunately, his father is opposed to his engaging in any kind
of fighting, let alone drunken boxing. Consequently, Fei-Hong not only
has to fight against the foreigners, but he must overcome his father's
antagonism as well.
The Legend of Drunken Master Movie Reviews
Ken Lo owned the out of this movie. His final fight against Jackie is awesome. Jackie plays WFH (the often portrayed Wong Fei Hung), a martial artist of great skill and also a drunken boxer. His father, also a master, dislikes Drunken boxing.
The plot of this movie isn't all that bad, but you watch it for the action anyways and there's plenty to go around and it's simply astounding!
It's a classical Jackie movie, with some silly moments and prop using during the fights, wicked stunts (some of which are (naturally) really dangerous) and brilliantly choreographed combat!

his beloved instructor has been murdered. While investigating the man's
death, Chen discovers that a rival Japanese school is operating a drug
smuggling ring. To avenge his master's death, Chen takes on both Chinese
and Japanese assassins... and even a towering Russian.
The Chinese Connection Movie Reviews
Film maker Lo Wei
directed this Bruce Lee classic Fist of Fury immediately after the
success of Lee's first martial art film, The Big Boss. Fist of Fury
tells the story of Chen (Lee) who arrives in Shanghai to his martial art
school, only to learn that his beloved teacher has died and the funeral
is going on when he arrives. Soon it is revealed that the death was
without a doubt a murder and our fierce hero is going to solve the
mystery..With the power of his fists and kicks.
This film is prehaps little too racist towards Japanese since they are depicted as dirty and greedy criminals here and some lines in the script are very underlining and judge the Japanese people too much. Then again, the film makes me wonder about racism in general since there is so much mayhem in the film and so many Chinese and Japanese get killed by each other, so maybe this film was not meant to be racist at all. Maybe the intention was to tell something about us who cannot live in peace with each other. All these things happen even today, 30 years after the film's release so the subject matter is definitely universal as it was back then in 1972. Still I would have toned down some of the dialogue bits since they are little too strong, and I think Bruce Lee himself didn't like the film's racial elements.
On the other hand, this film is really beautiful as it depicts the sensitive love between Bruce and Nora Miao, who is very beautiful and sweet female in this film, and also in other Lee's films. The scene at the teacher's grave is one of the most sensitive scenes of love I've ever seen, and those two characters are hand touchingly full of emotion. The themes in this film are mainly about relationships between individuals and humans in general, so the film has many things to offer moreover mere action. This is action classic with heart.
The film is famous for its legendary first nunchaku fight scene at the Japanese' training camp as Bruce shows for the first time his personal fighting tool and weapon, a pair of nunchakus. That fight scene even before nunchakus is among the greatest ever filmed since the choreography and timing is totally marvellous as the one take lasts very long without edits, and Bruce kicks and hits about ten victims during that, and the timing and stunt men had to be really sharp in order to not to get hurt for real. Also, the nunchaku fights in the film are incredible as Bruce uses his weapon without flinching an eye and with fierce look on his face. This all is even more powerful in his next film, Way of the Dragon.
The film was shot mostly in studio and there are only few exteriors in Fist of Fury. The staging is very convincing and the film's bigger budget compared to that of The Big Boss' really shows. The last fight in night time at the Japanese yard is very beautifully lighted and full of cinematic magic. The film is full of details and elements from Chinese culture and traditions, so this is little more personal and interesting film than The Big Boss, which had some irritating little flaws like the sound of Bruce' necklace he got from his mother and the scene where Bruce punches a guy through a wall with funny and campy result, which director Lo definitely didn't meant to look that funny.
Fist of Fury is a stunning piece of Hong Kong and world cinema and easily among Lee's greatest films. The atmosphere is created so convincingly that even people who usually don't appreciate action films should appreciate this, since this film is many more things than just action and fighting. Fist of Fury hasn't lost any of its power and punch during these 30 years and will remain one of the most important martial arts movies ever made. 9/10

The anti-Ching patriots, under the guidance of Ho Kuang-han, have
secretly set up their base in Canton, disguised as school masters.
During a brutal Manchu attack, Lui manages to escape and devotes himself

period of time he masters the deadly use of his fists, feet and palms,
along with such weapons as swords, sticks, and lances. With his learning
complete, he takes on the Manchus.
The 36th Chamber of Shaolin Reviews
Most people who
watched old Kung Fu movies know this movie simply as "Master Killer".
This is one of a select few non Chang Cheh directed Kung Fu movies that I
really, really like. This movie is a reference point of the old
training kung fu flicks.
This movie is famous for its rigorous
training scenes performed by Chia Hui Liu (Gordon Liu). Somehow you get a
feel for how being a student in the Shaolin Temple was really like. All
of the teachers are Monks and they sport the usual bald heads
accompanied with almost mysterious wisdom. Master Killer seems to be a
well directed movie so you become engulfed in the students plight.
Noteworthy
about this movie is how as a viewer at first you don't take Master
Killer seriously as a fighter, he just doesn't look tough. When he
struggles with his kung fu as he goes from one chamber to the next it is
uplifting as he slowly becomes better. Master Killer starts off as a
huge underdog in this movie, and as much as you laughed at him when he
first started to learn, you are amazed at his skill as he progresses.
This I feel is what makes Master Killer stand out as one of the best
training kung fu movies.
There are many memorable training
chambers. One chamber tests his sight, there are 2 burning posts on each
side of his head. If he moves his head even the slightest, the sides of
his head will be badly burned. He watches an object move from side to
side, faster and faster, the object is to move your eyes and not your
head; eventually Master Killer master all of the chambers.
Before
he can leave the Temple he has to fight one of the Head Monks at the
temple, initially he is no match for the monk, but Master Killer invents
a "new" kind of fighting weapon, and takes on the head monk again and
is able to be victorious. The fight scenes with Gordon and this monk are
very good. Many different weapons are used as well as hand to hand
combat, this is an excellent example of the essence of Shaolin Kung Fu.
Anyone
who loves old kung fu flicks will certainly be taken in by Master
Killer (also called "Enter the 36 Chambers). I can't explain it but this
is certainly Gordon Liu's signature film; he certainly was made to
play..... the Master Killer.

Hungama Movie Reviews
Hungama can easily be dubbed as India's answer to the 'Comedy of Errors'.
It works out really well when you do not expect a lot out of a movie and coming out thinking - yeah that was great. That is the case with this one. The cast were not all that appealing and the songs were passable - so when I actually got to watch the movie it made me sit up and realize that maybe bollywood could do comedy and did indeed have a sense of timing and humor.
The confusion or chaos revolves the name Anjali - it is the name of a prominent businessmans (Paresh Rawal) wife and also the name of a girl on the run from her past trying to make it in Mumbai (Rimi Sen). There are then a handful of characters that cross their paths and it inadvertently causes a lot of confusion. There is not enough space here to go into them, so its better to go and watch the movie.
On the acting side the show stealer is Paresh Rawal. He is excellent in this movie - it will have to be said that he is on par if not better then Johnny Lever nowadays, if not better. The two main leads Akshaye and Aftab also were terrific with a good change to see the later doing some good acting. Rimi Sen is good and fits into the story well. The rest of the support cast (and there are plenty of them) are well balanced and compliment the story well.
The two backbone characteristics of the movie namely the script and music would have my mixed views. The story is excellent. But the music left something to be desired.
Overall its one of those movies you would watch when you just want to have fun.

3 idiots Movie Reviews
Plot Two idiots Farhan
(Madhavan) and Raju (Sharman) sets outs on a journey to find their lost
friend and the 3rd idiot Rancho (Aamir).. As the journey starts off,
their college life and old memories of their friendship, with a unique
free-thinker Rancho who inspired them and changed their lives, are
unfolded through flashbacks and followed with some twists and turns...
My Views 3 Idiots looks at our educational system which pressurizes the students and does not allow to chose his destination by his own wish, in a satirical way and brings out some of the flaws in it... On parallel there is a love angle between Rancho and Pia (Kareena)... Many of the situations/characters have resemblance or inspiration to "Five Point Someone", blockbuster novel penned by Chetan Bhagat...
Both humour and emotional quotients are amalgamated in the right proportion, full credits to Raju for that... Film offers lots of quality rib-tickling moments throughout.. The intermission point offers a twist that is totally out of the blue and keeps you hooked to the movie ! Just when you think this feel-good comic caper is leading to its culmination, there is another surprising element at the climax which is brilliantly weaved out by Hirani...
Technically, it rocks with astounding and visually arresting cinematography, the aerial shots of Shimla and Ladakh are a pleasant treat for our eyes... Editing was good... Song visualizations were cool... Music was good and well placed with the flow of the narration...
Coming to performances, all of them comes out with convincing portrayals, but it is Aamir Khan, the real showman of Bollywood, steals the shows with yet another stellar portrayal and will go down as one of his best performances. His looks and mannerisms as a college student was genuine and consummate.. Madhavan and Sharman adds up with commendable performances... Kareena does her part well... Among the supporting, Boman Irani as the eccentric head of the institution was too good...
On the downside, there are some unbelievable filmy situations which can be excused as writer's liberty and the episode of Mona's delivery was a bit far stretched.. Still these minor negatives does not affect this wholesome entertainer ! In short the basic theme of the movie is that "chase excellence and success will follow".. Just like that Aamir and Raju has chased excellence and success is following them...
So to sum up, Aamir and Hirani has delivered the best movie of 2009... Do yourself a favour by seeing this highly emotional and feel good comic entertainer.

Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. Movie Reviews
This movie was
terrific. The comedy caused rip-roaring laughter. Sanjay Dutt makes a
comeback after his poor performance in Ek Aur Ek Gyarah. The emotional
scenes are very poignant. The emotions and comedy have been integrated
perfectly. The themes of the movie are very inspiring.

Hera Pheri Movie Reviews
Wow, This is what I
call a great comedy in 2-3 hours, it will make you laugh as you are
suppose to laugh. Great acting by Paresh Rawal will make you feel that
he is the best for the role given to him and he did justice with what
has been given to him. Sunil Shetty and Akshay Kumar has done there
part very good, but I think the crown for the movie goes to Paresh
Rawal.
A good movie, with good story and excellent comedy. Its a must watch for people who like to enjoy there spare time.

Tere Naam Movie Reviews
Happened to watch this movie when it was aired on TV.
Normally
I pass off Salman as a spoilt-brat of Bollywood with no talent
what-so-ever except for penchant for showing off his well-tones muscles.
But Tere Naam proves otherwise, and hey guys - this dude can really
act.
Salman get into the skin of the character as rebellious
aimless youth who frequently gets involved in dog-fights. He meets
Bhumika Chawla and immediately falls for her demure innocent nature. The
rest of the movie is tale of their love and what future had in store
for them.
The story is pretty good and manages to captivate the
interest of the audience. A few coincidences and mishaps shown could
have been done away with.
Friendship between Salman and his friends is quite natural and remind you of your bunch of friends during college/ hostel days.
Salman
has done commendable job in emotional scenes which make you wonder if
he was really acting or being one-self. Sachin Khedekar delivers a good
performance. Bhumika Chawla suits the role to the "T" playing the girl
next door hailing from higher caste.
The beliefs, life-style, the dogma and the hypocrisy of the higher caste is portrayed with substantial element of reality.
Songs are quite hummable.
The
hype of being a true story of Salman-Aishwarya was just a publicity
gimmick, otherwise the movie is a remake of Tamil film Sethu.

Chalte Chalte Movie Reviews
Priya's
(Rani Muherjee) performance as a controlling, dominating, "Nit picking"
"Neat freak" wife was excellent +! Raj's(Shahrukh Khan)performance as a
hard worker, responsible, faithful and romantic husband was
Outstanding! Music, songs and dances were beautiful, lively and sexy.
They looked like a lovely couple. They loved each other very much and
were faithful to each other but it appeared that there were personality
conflicts, and family class differences between them because Priya was
from a upper class family and Raj was from a middle class family.
According to Priya's family, Sameer was the ideal husband for pry, but
Priya chose Raj as her husband.
Priya's aunt interfered in Priya's and Raj's marriage. She did not approve Priya's new friends whom she had met through Raj. She also did not approve Priya's life style and believed Priya was not leading a life style that her family had dreamed and had hoped for her.
Raj was positively proud of his hard work and his accomplishments as a business man. Knowing that how Priya's family felt about him, he felt inferior when he was around Priya's family especially aroungd Aunt Anna and Sameer as Sameer was the person Priya's parents had chosen for her as an ideal husband.
Priya did not compliment Raj in a party that was hosted by Sameer although she complimented Sameer. Feeling inferior and insecure, Raj had to ask a waiter about his suit and Watch while Priya was dancing with Sameer.
At home, Priya refused to eat dinner after Raj had complimented her cooking. She also refused to hug him after he had brought her flowers and vegetables and had washed the dishes after coming home working all day while Priya was a home maker.
Raj ran into financial difficulties with his business. He did not approach his father asking for help. He did not go to her relatives or friends asking for help. Priya did not approach her father for help. She did not go to her relatives and friends either. She went to Smaeer asking for help. He gave her 2.5 million rupees as a favior. Priya falsified to Raj about where she received the funds. When Raj had found out about from whom she got the money from, the hell broke loose. Later, Sameer made it look like only a loan.
Although Priya had admitted to Sameer it was wrong for her to accept money from Sameer, she never appolagized to Raj for accepting the money.
No one in the world is perfect. There are no perfect marriages in the whole world. Raj took all the blames. He fell on his keens and publicly appoligized to Priya, Aunt Anna and Sameer for every problems in their marriage.
Raj is a hard worker, family type of person, he loved Priya very very much and was a faithful husband to her.
After considering the type of person Raj is and if some like Raj was to be my husband, I would have eaten my dinner with him. I would have greeted him at the door with a hug or kiss when he had arrived with vegetables and flowers. I would not have nagged him every night about petty things until he had exploded. As a home maker, I would have put away his shoes and would have hung up his jacket after he had returned home from a hard day of work. I would have appoligized for being a nagging wife. I would have apolagized for requesting and accepting money from Sameer because it takes at least two to tangle
